I have an 0-360 in one of my planes and the throttle
and mixture are not spring loaded. After the mixture
broke this summer my IA and I tried to figure out a
way to put a spring in without modifying the carb
(certified engine) We could not get one to work. Now I
hold my breath every time I push in the mixture. We
were about 2 miles from an airport so we were able to
have a nice landing.
