If you'll go back and read his post again, I'm pretty sure he was asking about the mechanical pump, not the Facet. Having said that, there are a whole bunch of different kinds of Facet pumps. They all look the same, and they don't even put any kind of identifier on them to tell the difference (I label mine as soon as they come out of the box). They can be ordered with anti-siphon, or with check valves in them to prevent back flow. My experience with the ones that I have is that they are open when no power is applied, but that's certainly not a guarantee. Having said that, I have two of them in series so I'm counting on it myself. I flip a switch to swap between the two every time I do a runup, and check the pressure on them both, and they are practically the same. One of these days I need to siamese the two pumps using checkvalves. I have everything I need to do it, except the time. Check Facet's site at http://www.facet-purolator.com/solidstate.asp to get a clue as to how many types there are, and to see which one might suit you best. These also tell the story on the Facets that you can buy from Wicks or AS&S... Mark Langford, Harvest, AL see homebuilt airplane at http://www.N56ML.com email to N56ML "at" hiwaay.net
