Whilst refurbing my aircraft, I wanted to remove the wheels to clean out
the drums. I went to jack it on a block of wood bolted in between the
WAFs. It started to tip forward. Hence asking the question.

The CG may be a little bit further aft with the wings attached, but not
a lot, so the advice to tie down the tail is well received.

The whole business of landing with a flat tyre is a good reminder of
one of the many compromises you have to make when designing an aircraft,
the further apart the wheeels the worse the groundloop if you have a
flat. The closer together, the easier to ground loop in a crosswind. The
further forward the wheels the easier to ground loop, the further back
the easier to stand the thing on it's nose.

Who would be an aircraft designer !
