Brian, Rob and others:

This has been bugging me for a while and may have some application here.

Has anyone ever permanently installed a Solar panel to charge or operate
electronics and to keep a small sealed lead-acid battery charges such as the
one you mentioned.  Harbor Freight, among others sell these at reasonable
prices and it looks like they could be easily mounted in the "Turtle-Back" and
other places.

Just some thoughts that might be an approach I have not seen anywhere.
