Isn't it interesting, this thread has nothing to do with spars.  I have seen
several posts in response to my post on "anti scarfing", and while I
appreciate all the "how to scarf" replies, and the one that told me to quit
building airplanes, my intent was to see if technology had changed to the
extent that maybe scarfing was not necessary any more.  My thought was that
maybe we are still doing it because "it has always been done that way".

I guess, one day, I will have to make up a little test with and without
scarfing.   So, until then, please disregard my anti scarfing blasfemy.

Oh, and not to worry, Jerry built all the wood parts on the Black Bird, and
all the joints are scarfed.
