Looking at the photo again I can see the VSI was at 1000 fpm, not 2000 fpm. I didn't think we were diving all that steeply. I also noticed the engine still didn't hit "redline". I guess at the 2000 hour point it's just plain tired !!! Yes, the tach is accurate to within 50 rpm or so as measured with a digital remote tach. Larry Flesner
