I guess I should have clarified that I'd done a little Photoshop work on that photo, superimposing the plane into the hangar row photos. This whole conversation has been purely hypothetical! I've restored it back to the original photo, so nobody should be concerned now. Just thought I'd clear that up. During lunch our NDT guy (NASA and nuclear qualified) magnafluxed my crank for me to prove that there are no cracks in critical areas (second time for this crank). It's already been nitrided, so I'll be able to put the bottom end of the engine together this weekend, and if it turns out I have the right head gaskets, I can completely finish it, except that I need to make some new plenums to meet up with the new cowling I'm going to start as soon as the carbon fiber comes in...
