Where I live in Wyoming, tech advisors are far and few in between. The local" tech advisor doesn't charge for reasons Mark stated but does ask for mileage which is more than reasonable considering he has to travel over 100 miles round trip. If a tech advisor is charging for his services, I'd drop a note to EAA and make the aware of it. Gene Leone, Worland, Wyoming
