I found airflow interference from the wheel pant caused an 8 knot underspeed
in cruise when the pitot was below the wing on the stub. I moved it to 8
inches forward of leading edge to correct it. Also need to remember that
flex in the gear leg from a heavy landing can allow the pants to hit the
tube especially with large tyres (5.00x5) fitted...I learnt this the hard
way.

You can fine tune your airspeed with an O-ring on the static tube  either
before or after the little hole but it also affects altitude and VSI to a
minor extent.
