As you recall, I made a post stating that my flexplate was slapping the teeth
of the starter at 2500 rpm. Last night I tweaked the flexplate until it was
tracking true. I just did anther test run and the flexplate barely grazed the
starter teeth at 2500 rpm. As soon as I passed through 2550 rpm there was no
more grazing the starter teeth. Nor did it do so up to max static rpm of 2750
rpm. I then slowly reduced rpm and again at 2550 down to 2500 rpm the flexplate
grazed the starter teeth. As soon as I passed below 2500 rpm, it was fine
again. I have determined that there is some minute induced oscillation at 2500
to 2550 rpm. I am convinced the flexplate is ok and that I have my starter
mounted too close to the flexplate. Not enough clearance between the ring gear
teeth and the starter teeth.
