That is very true. I think that skinning behind the rear spar will add much weight where you don't want it. I would like to see someone use a triangle of skin glued over the stringer joints, instead of gussets and see what the effect is. I have always thought that it would be just as strong, if not stronger and sure would be a lot easier to make.
