Wise man. Surely we already know enough to appreciate that dynamically and statically balanced CTL surfaces are the way fwd - particularly when we are aspiring to 150 mph plus. Put another way - we know enough to know that there is a great deal more to know. In 19 seventy something I stood and watched in utter amazement as a ragwing rudder started to flutter just before take off. It was bizzare, the whole vert stab was eventually in a slow motion oscillation - this all occered in seconds. I doubt that the old girl had reached 40 mph.
