Mark I'm sure know of the problems that Mooney had with pulling the staples out with a tape like strip. The early Mooney's had to have a redo of the wing skin. The skin actually seperated from the ribs both because of the tape and not letting the glue cure completely. Yes I know that epoxy is much better. How ever, Bellanca used the nail tack strips. Never had a problem.
Personally, I'd do the weight on the frame work with just any plywood over some plastic or wax paper. That will eliminate nail removal.
