This reminds me of something I should have said about stapling.  After
you're done stapling, flip the side over so that any excess epoxy you have
will run back into a nice fillet around the joint between spruce and skin.

Don't forget to leave some extra plywood hanging over in the back to act as
a rudder fairing.
