The epoxy epoxy resin and catalyst is as hazardous, but not any more than most paint materials, don't drink it. The carbon fiber is inert to the extent that it can not be detected by a x-ray exam, like Plexiglas, if it is in your body, liken to a splinter. When cured the composite is benign as long as it doesn't carry bacteria into the wound.
