You'll probably be fine for both cabin heat and carb heat. I know folks who don't run ram air, sucking air from inside the cowling instead, and I do that myself once the daytime highs drop below 60F or so. I would not simply run carb heat in the winter time though (preheated by the exhaust pipe), especially if running auto fuel, due the the increased likelihood of detonation from the higher temperature inlet temps. Having said that, in colder weather I run heat just about all the time, and certainly at high altitude to improve mixture distribution.
