It is hard to see but if the tip is different from the typical Hoerner tip, it probably won't work like a Hoerner tip. IIRC Hoerner tried a number of configurations to arrive on what is now known as a Hoerner tip, so, there are probably a number of close-but-not-quite variants that Hoerner found to be less effective.
