Thanks for posting this Mark. Two weeks ago I flew commercial to Detroit. When we took off from Midway we were climbing out into perfectly smooth air and without any warning whatsoever we hit a bump that felt like I had driven over a speed bump at seventy. But it was only one single bump. Nothing before and nothing after. I have never experienced this and it was some time before I really settled down. Just glad to know that this is not unusual.
