You don't need mega bucks aircraft paint to have a nice looking ,
long lasting paint job. I used $40 a gallon Nasson (sp?) auto paint
12 years and 550 flight hours ago and it has held up very well. I
don't recall the exact type of paint so you may have to wear a
painting mask. Someone shot it for me in an open hangar at night
with a 200 watt overhead bulb. Turned out o.k.. I've not even
buffed the paint out after cure. No base coat/clear coat or anything
like that, just a one shot coat of paint. I used the water based
roll on primer that worked great but is a bit expensive. The good
part of that primer is I could prime a part or parts of the airplane
any time without setting up a booth and spray equipment and then have
a mess to clean up. Just a small 4 inch foam roller to clean up with
water or even just dispose of it when it got to ragged.

I'm sure you'll hear about many other options. Consider all and go
with what is reasonable for you considering facilities and
cost. Just remember, the KR will see very little weather exposure
over it's lifetime if hangared which is really the only option.
