I'm not concerned about electrical connections in or near the fuel. The only reason I'm placing them in the tubes is, I don't want to cut holes in my wing surface. I think I seen a article were Lancair or glasair uses this type of system. http://s449.photobucket.com/user/rkpsk1/library/

I just replaced the fuel pump in my wife's fuel tank, and the +/- 12V connections that run the pump are right there in the tank, submerged most of the time, but not when it's low on fuel. They are positively screwed down to a terminal with a nut though. No spark, no worry...
