Yep, there's a detent ball that will fall out if you pull the knob out
something like 3.75" or more  (that probably varies), so take it apart
slowly and on the carpet in the middle of your living room floor.  Doing
that on a crowded shop bench is an invitation to lose it immediately
(personal experience there).  Look up the part number on the ACS website and
you will find instructions as to how to reassemble it, if it's not
obvious...and also how to order spare balls!  Been there, got two of
them...and have likely already lost the spare!

To avoid another SNAFU, measure twice and cut once.  I managed to screw that
up too...cut the cable instead of the housing and was about four inches
short!  Best to leave it a little long, just in case, and you can usually
find room to put some extra cable slack, or worst case, cut it again after
it's installed and you have a better idea of exactly how it's going to
run...
