Here's a thought to consider. September into October we get, here in Southern California, some our hottest weather of the year. What makes it worse is the "Santa Ana" desert winds that kick up around then - come to think of it, it's probably the Santa Ana's that are mainly responsible for the fact we get our hottest weather then. Mt. Vernon is lovely in September and October and it may be lovely at Chino too, but what I'm suggesting is that the Gathering be scheduled in October rather than September. September, in fact, can be one long Santa Ana - that's when we get our worst fires, suicides, homicides, and random havoc. Later is better methinks.
On this note, Ken Rand with his KR-1 got blown off the runway and into the airport boundry fence at Fla-Bob when taking off during a Santa Ana period. . He glued it back together and kept on going within a day or two. I wasn't there of course, but there will probably be a few at this Gathering that were.
