I landed down wind once in the KR. I departed an airport just 20 miles from my then home airport. I made a long straight in approach assuming the wind to be the same as my departure airport. WRONG !! A front had just passed and the wind shifted 180 degrees. I used the better part of the 4000 foot available (with speed brake full down). Was questioning in my head what had just happened when I saw the wind sock. Duh........ Larry Flesner
