If you're talking to me, I used a "real" Whelen tail light socket, probably inside some thin-wall plastic or fiberglass tubing (homemade...I forget). One very slick way to mount a socket (wherever and whatever kind of socket you use) is shown a few pictures down from the top of http://www.krnet.org/redoak2003/ in a plane that is now owned by Mike Stirewalt, originally built by Max Calkin, I think it was.
