This is why I suggested checking around if there are more chapters within a reasonable distance. When I moved to New Mexico, my boss told me he was in two chapters and described one as "where the builders are" and said more or less that the members of the other one had finished building. I joined both. I saw that the one that was more of a social club/gathering for Young Eagles rallies, pancake breakfasts etc. gradually changed as new members came in, bringing their projects with them. The chapter with the builders is now the chapter where the building is in large part finished. The focus of a chapter is cyclical and sometimes all it takes is a little nudge to change direction.
