I didn't answer your question though. I added your 485 pounds to the empty weight of my KR2S to get 1245 pounds gross weight. I think that's pretty realistic. Maybe you can probably shave some off of that, but not a whole lot. I don't have much of an interior in my plane, and I didn't do any unnecessary beefing up like a lot of people do. My plane is "rated" at 1200 pounds gross weight, according to the data plate...
