We are talking about stretching the stretched version (KR2-S) aren't we?
How much was that stretched from the original KR? I did add 14" to my last
KR2 build and also added 2" to the Engine mount rather than extending the
fuselage forward. But that was for looks and ease of maintenance. I am not
6'2". If it is leg room needed, by all means you must make the change
forward. An uncomfortably cramped plane will be a chore to fly. I believe
comfort was one of the biggest problems with the original KR and for
this, many projects were too quickly sold or abandoned. The changes you
suggest are the safest, least expensive and simplest to make. You will not
regret the little added weight and build time.

Subject: KR> KR2-S Fuselage Extension

Finally got the shop cleaned out and I'm ready to begin the fuselage layout.
I've read a lot of the past posts about lengthened the fuselage an
additional 14"s aft and some added 2"s forward. I get the adding an extra
bay concept aft but what about the forward section? I plan on using a
Corvair engine so maintaining structural strength is obviously important.
I'm also 6'2" and after making a rough cockpit mockup I could sure use a
couple of inches. I would appreciate some input. Thanks
