Jim Hill did it successfully after he broke the tail off of his plane in an 
end-over-end rollover, but I think it was more like 14" to make it more 
KR2S-like.  It was broken very close to the tail feathers, so there was very 
little material involved, and the discontinuity in the fore-aft flow lines 
was easy to disguise with a Lancair-like teardrop taper back there.  I don't 
have photos, and the plane was sold years ago to somebody in Pine Bluff, I 
believe.  It turned out pretty good, and while he was at it, he put a longer 
horizontal stab and rudder on it.  He loved the change it made...
