Mac Side hinged canopies are not a problem. We must not associate them with "fatalities"/failures. Inadequate or improper latching or pilot/builder negligence are the likely cause of failures. I do not deny that the forward opening canopy is an improvement but not a reason to instill fear and or doubt or mistrust in the many aircraft using side opening. Pat
