Really? To me it's an issue of semantics -- what does 'available' mean
in this context? For instance, it's available for hold right? That is,
it's not lost, missing or withdrawn ...

Do libraries want the exact status of the item to be visible to their
patrons? Based on conversations I've had, there doesn't seem to be any
consensus on what exactly the statuses should be called, and which of
the statuses should display to patrons.
