Bug description:
this bug appeared during an upgrade. It appears to be related to the
audio card on my Asus laptop. I purchased the laptop with pre-
installed MS Windows and subsequently installed Ubuntu. So, I suspect
there might be a driver problem or some such although I don't know
enough about this to figure out how to troubleshoot.

Any guidance/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
