We have the same problem in KMyMoney and decided that we keep a local copy
that is not to be modified but kept in sync every now and then with the main
repository (i.e. we copy over that stuff from time to time). We give it a
specific name so that there is no collision with other files (kmm_kdchart in
our case) in the CMakeLists.txt build file (the only change we did and
maintain).

http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/extragear/office/kmymoney/ has the details. We
drop the copy in libkdchart.
