I downloaded various versions of Fedora KDE Live ISOs and tried them looking
for this bug:

So running the command "ksmserver --version" is useless for getting the actual
version. The size of the programs has changed in different versions so  someone
has been doing something to it either directly or indirectly. The Fedora 34
case is interesting in that there was a failure in the kde crash handler. The
trace back had several references to Wayland. This may be why the F34 case
showed a failure.
