[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #28 from [email protected] --- I can confirm that installing `vulkan-intel` resolved the tearing on my system running Plasma 6.8.1. **System configuration** - Arch Linux - KWin 6.8.1-1 - Plasma Workspace 6.8.1-1 - Intel Tiger Lake-H UHD Graphics (i915), driving the internal laptop display - NVIDIA RTX A4000 Mobile, driver 615.78.08, driving two external monitors (HDMI and DisplayPort) After upgrading to Plasma 6.8.1, I experienced severe tearing on both external monitors whenever moving windows or when screen content updated. The internal laptop display was unaffected. I initially applied the workaround discussed in bug 527328: - `KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0` - `KWIN_DRM_FORCE_GL_FINISH_PRESENT=1` - `KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR=1` - Disabled the KWin `shakecursor` plugin This made the desktop usable, but did not fully resolve the issue. I then installed `vulkan-intel` and rebooted. Before installing it, `vulkaninfo --summary` listed only the NVIDIA GPU; afterward, Intel Vulkan support was available as well. **The tearing disappeared after installing `vulkan-intel`.** I subsequently removed the workaround settings and disabled-plugin configuration, rebooted, and confirmed that the problem did not return. This suggests that the issue may be related to the missing Intel Vulkan driver on hybrid Intel/NVIDIA systems, consistent with the cross-GPU rendering/copy path discussed in this report. Hopefully this helps narrow down the cause for other users experiencing the same problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
