Environment - Operating System: Fedora Linux 44 - KDE Frameworks: 6.28.1 - Qt: 6.11.1 - libheif: 1.21.2 - libheif-freeworld: 1.21.2-3 Retest procedure 1. Updated to kf6-kimageformats-6.28.1-1.fc44. 2. Cleared the thumbnail cache (~/.cache/thumbnails) to force thumbnail regeneration. 3. Rebooted into a clean session. 4. Verified there were no startup crashes before opening any applications. 5. Opened Dolphin. 6. Navigated to the same folder containing the tiled HEIC images that previously reproduced the issue. 7. Waited for all HEIC thumbnails to be regenerated. 8. Opened the same HEIC image in Gwenview. 9. Left both Gwenview and Dolphin open for a while after the image finished loading. 10. Closed Gwenview. 11. Closed Dolphin. 12. Waited again after closing Dolphin. 13. Checked for new crashes using coredumpctl and reviewed the journal for kioworker / thumbnail / HEIF related errors. Observed result - Dolphin successfully regenerated all HEIC thumbnails. - Gwenview opened the HEIC image successfully. - No kioworker crashes occurred during thumbnail generation. - No crashes occurred while opening the image in Gwenview. - No crashes occurred after closing Gwenview or Dolphin. - No DrKonqi notifications appeared. - No repeated placeholder tray icons appeared. - `coredumpctl` reported no new coredumps. - No new kioworker / kimg_heif / imagethumbnail / thumbnail / HEIF related crash messages appeared in the journal. Additional verification - Thumbnail cache was successfully regenerated (57 thumbnail files created). - kimg_heif.so is linked against the expected system libheif.so.1. - Installed packages during the retest: - kf6-kimageformats-6.28.1-1.fc44 - libheif-1.21.2 - libheif-freeworld-1.21.2-3 On my system, I am no longer able to reproduce the original issue after updating to 6.28.1. also The repeated Plasma tray placeholder icons and repeated DrKonqi notifications that I previously observed are also no longer reproducible during this retest. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
