If it takes too long, the program crashes. This is an interesting hypothesis. How fast is the docker server that's hosting MySQL? I'll have the check with Gilles and Maik to see if this is likely. There is code in the face pipeline to slow things down if any stage gets behind processing the work. This is to avoid consuming too much memory and causing a crash.
