could be. I also changed the images of that tool. Essentially I replaced 
gif images by png's maybe that is the problem?

@Peppe: are you using Windows or Linux?
Can you check tomorrow again and send the stack trace if it doesn't work?

maybe I need to undo the changes to the two cursor tools 
(DrawRectangleFenceTool and MeasureTool where responsible for the error 
messages).
