I haven't heard college specific but I have read about the studies that show
that at adolescence, just when evertything starts to go way downhill as far
as self-esteem and self-image for girls, girls do much better in single-sex
environments while boys do better in co-ed environments. Now how in the
world would one meet the needs of both groups?

Used to be on the board of an all-girl high school, also went there. I
highly recommend it, hard as it was for me at 16 to lose all that attention
from boys. So this is an issue to which I've paid some attention.
