Ignoring the `slf4j` error for now, I see some other errors, for example
that `kafka.consumer.ConsumerConfig` cannot be found. The problem is that the
packages starting with `kafka.*` are deprecated and have been removed in Kafka
2.0.0. (see here:
https://github.com/apache/kafka/blob/1.0/core/src/main/scala/kafka/consumer/ConsumerConfig.scala#L26)
I think the first step is removing all of those dependencies from the
connector-base package. Or, if that is not possible, it might be that Kafka 2.0
can't use the connector-base package.
