are you sure?
from the bug history it seems that the bug is from 2006 but the patch was
submitted in 2011 december (still a while ago).
either way, now that we are over the first RC and this is a security
related feature which seems to nobody (other than the author) reviewed yet
I think it would be better to wait for 5.6(or whatever will be next).
