Agreed, but I think that anything we can do to help mitigate these
fears will help spur PHP 5 adoption.

Deciding to migrate is about reward and risk. We've done our best to
add lots of rewards, but now we should look to reduce the risk.

I did, but www.php.net doesn't use OOP, MySQL, or XML, so it's not a
very good test of the new parts of PHP 5.
