Ken,
I'm not sure I follow all of your reply to my message. I do use the "dev"
repository because I need more frequent updates than the six month window of
the release repository. I would prefer to stay a bit further off the bleeding
edge but infrequent security updates of the release repository is a problem for
me. Therefore, it would be to my advantage to have free updates to the stable
release of OpenSolaris. My requirement wouldn't be anything like a fully
supported product. I only need critical security and stability fixes (much like
what we get in public patches on Solaris 10 now). I don't need anything like
the level of support a contract customer would get. I don't presume to tell
Oracle how to run its business. I'm merely answering the question posed from my
point of view. The release repository would be more useful to me (and I'd guess
others as well) if at least critical updates were provided between 6 month
releases.
