With refactorization of packages we could save significant amount of
space (some server deamons like ftpd can be removed from LiveCD).

Why pre-install? Why not post-install? That would allow to not disturb
"normal" user, but allow more knowledgeable user to do cleanup.
Something like JASS from security area.
