Hello,
I am having problems getting the b130 and b131 LiveCDs to boot on my
dell inspiron 510m. I know that the CDs are fine as they boot on another
system without issue. The b129 LiveCD boots fine on the dell laptop.
A bit more detail, I am sorry I can't provide detailed error messages
but I am blind so rely on orca for accessing the system, any suggestions
on how I might get error messages would be useful. I did try logging in
via ssh but I couldn't get it to connect.
So what I do is boot from the b130/b131 LiveCD, at the boot prompt press
down cursor to get the option to have orca automatically start and press
enter. After a short time I get a beep to indicate the keyboard
selection menu, I press enter and get the beep for language and press
enter. The CD spins a bit more continuing to load but then after a
minute or so it stops but I am not at the GDM login screen. As I said
trying to connect via ssh at this point doesn't work and pressing
various keys which might possibly make things proceed (eg. enter, etc)
don't do anything.
As I said I have successfully booted these CDs on another system and I
am aware of the problem where you need to log in on the b130 and b131
LiveCDs.
Anyone know what is wrong or how I might go about finding out what is wrong?
