Did either of you upgrade the zpool version before rebooting by any chance?

I do not believe I did. However, that seems to be pointed in the right direction:

   grub> kernel$ /platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B $ZFS-BOOTFS
   loading '/platform/i86pc/kernel/$ISADIR/unix -B $ZFS-BOOTFS' ...
cpu: 'GenuineIntel' family 6 model 15 step 11
   [BIOS accepted mixed-mode target setting!]

   Error 16: Inconsistent filesystem structure

I just performed an image-update from b98 to b99. On reboot, the boot

on a system with ZFS)?

I just completed an image-update, and I have the same issue. I'll be trying to work through it here and let you know if I can pass along a solution.

Given that it's only been available for about 24 hours, two instances of this seems fairly high. If anyone wants to work with me on diagnosing what went wrong, I'd be glad to help.
