If you review the archives of the discussion back in August, a11y 
offered quite a bit of feedback and indicated this was acceptable.

We will be re-examining our media strategy after the November release 
and considering a variety of options, but we are sticking with the 
current one for now.  The number of media images that your suggested 
scheme would require would be unmanageable without architecture changes.
