Would that partition be called c5d0p1? I tried adding c5d0p1 to > the pool I had created on my second drive and it worked but only added > about 25GB to the pool. I'm missing about 65GB somewhere. The root of my problem has just become clear. I apparently got the partition notation wrong. I'm at work right now connected to my desktop PC via ssh, so I can't really dig too far into the problem right now. I started getting bus error core dumped errors. Checking my root pool's status it shows it to be degraded with too many errors. I should have realized this earlier, but it took this to make it sink in. The amount of space that got added to my non-root pool when I added c5d0p1 is equal to the size of the first partition on drive c5d0, which contains my root pool's slice. I thought the partitions were numbered from zero and c5d0p1 would be the second, type other, partition, that I created. Humm, my technique might have worked if I had gotten the partition numbers right. Oh well, live and learn. It looks like I'm destined for a reinstall when I get home. Based on the comments I've gotten I might give SXCE a try for now. Kevin http://www.RawFedDogs.net http://www.WacoAgilityGroup.org Bruceville, TX Si hoc legere scis nimium eruditionis habes.
