I suspect much of my difficulties in setting things up the way I want them
is due to the inflexibility of the Indiana installer. I should probably
mention that I don't hold this against the Indiana team at all. Indiana
is a work in progress, and hopefully anyone trying to use it in it's
current state realizes that. While on the subject of installers, can I
throw in my $0.02? I know, I'm old fashioned, but I personally prefer
text based installers such as those used by Debian, FreeBSD, etc. Well,
actually, I prefer programs with text based user interfaces in general.
I'm typing this e-mail in Alpine. Of course, many of my personal
preferences might make people think I'm a bit odd. I work as an IBM
mainframe operator, in a z/OS shop, and although there are only a few left
here in the computer room I'm still quite fond of 3179 dumb terminals. I
especially like their keyboards. At home I'm still using an IBM model M
keyboard I got back in the 486 days. Add to that the fact that almost
every vehicle I've ever owned has had a standard transmission, I shave
with a straight razor, and have twelve dogs and things just keep getting
odder and odder. :-)

Okay, sorry for veering so far off topic. I've been searching the net,
unsuccessfully so far, trying to find the article you mentioned. It
sounds like SXCE might be worth a try until Indiana's installer gains more
features. If anyone could point me towards the article in question I'd
appreciate it.
