My cable net has a more hi-fi tech support.
He comes on a bicycle with a laptop.
Takes out the cable from my computer and puts it in his laptop.
If he can access google.com in his laptop, then the world is doing fine,
he'll smile and say "babua aapka compooter kharab hai!".
Linux and compaq are the same company to him. MicroSoft is a dealer and has
a huge building in nehru place.
He asks me how many windows came free with my computer.
I prefer to stay quiet while he is doing his operation, to prevent gutka
spits on my clothes. I wonder if that is a policy.

I am seriously thinking of changing my Internet connection to the one that
sandip had suggested(the one from the top of some building in gaziabad),
that requires my house to be in line of sight of their building. and also
hoping that no1 decides to build another floor on their house, that's
between my house and my prospective ISPs building.

Another important information that you people might be interested in...
Reliance is launching their inet service very soon.
I have a friend in Reliance comm. From what he has told me its 900/month,
64kbps and 2k for installation.

But, if your house is in a particular location(what they call the center of
the ring), then the opti cable comes to your house. You need to provide them
space to keep their switch and power backup. You get a 256kbps net access
for free. Ofcoz you'll be indirectly paying the electricity expenses for
hosting the switch.
