I am presently in discussion with Sify with regards to 64kbps connections in the flats in our apartment(Kanungo). They are approaching ppl on an apartment basis, setting up wireless receivers for linking to their NOC at Kaushambi - all apartments within line of sight of kaushambi
can avail of this. Already IFS apartments have this arrangement in place and you can enquire about their service.

Service of all local cable-internet wallas in generally pathetic ... the only thing you can look forward to is almost 24 hours connectivity. Speed is sometimes good and sometimes pathetic ... downtimes are dependent on how far your place is from their distribution center.

I am hoping the bigger players are more worthy ...

Does someone have the contact numbers of the ISPs providing DSL/Cable
Internet Services in Patparganj IP extension.

And any experiences using these with Linux.

For a LAN one wants the following setup.
                LAN-<->LinuxRouter<->INTERNET
Any downside to this kind of a setup when using DSL/Cable Internet
services.
